Below are trusted organizations that can use monetary donations as they provide relief efforts in Western NC. In time, there will be opportunities for us to roll up our sleeves and do some practical work to support and those will be communicated as they arise. For now, we encourage everyone to give and pray as generously as you can.

Episcopal Relief and Development


ERD provideds disaster relief to partners in United States, Latin America and the Caribbean by supplying critical supplies, meeting urgent needs, providing pastoral care and assisting with the long-term efforts to heal and rebuild.

American Red Cross


You can help by making a financial donation (linked above), or an appointment to give blood or platelets by visiting redcross.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767). You can also text the word HELENE to 90999 to make a donation by phone, or visit redcross.org/volunteer to learn how to volunteer.

North Carolina Organizations

Samaritan's Purse


Samaritan’s Purse, based in Boone, NC is responding in five locations after Hurricane Helene-- Watauga, Ashe and Avery Counties in NC, Johnson County in TN and in impacted areas of Florida. They are providing food, water, and basic neccessiteis and are assisting three area hospitals by setting up field hospitals and oxygen tents.


Community Housing Coalition (CHC) of Madison County


This is a community-based nonprofit agency that facilitates urgent home repairs to low-income Madison County residents in need of assistance. Many groups throughout our diocese and state send groups to Glory Ridge each summer, an organization that does work like Towel Ministry at St. Peter's. Glory Ridge works directly with CHC to provide services to low-income residents.
