Backpack Friends

BackPack Friends provides nutritional meals and snacks and limited toiletries to almost a 1000 children in the local area who may need a little extra over the weekend. By supplying these bags, our goal is to assist in meeting their nutritional, mental, and overall well-being needs. St. Peter’s supports Backpack Friends by volunteering time and providing donations.


Family Promise of Carteret County  (https://familypromisecarteret.org

Family Promise of Carteret County is a cooperative organization of local congregations who work together through their resources, talents and compassion to meet the needs of homeless families in Carteret County. St. Peter’s supports Family Promise by providing monetary and practical donations, and in 2024, we installed new handrails on the front porch. 


Hope Mission of Coastal Carolina (https://hopemissionnc.org/)

Hope Mission serves the Carteret County community by providing food, shelter, emergency financial assistance, emotional support, mentoring and counseling. St. Peter’s supports Hope Mission by providing donations.


Onslow Community Outreach

Onslow Community outreach assists vulnerable persons in the Onslow county area through food banks, offering low/no cost medical care, soup kitchens and emergency housing.  St. Peter’s supports Onslow Community Outreach through donations and occasional volunteer work.


Ricky’s Retreat

Ricky’s retreat offers free peer support for local teens and young adults experiencing mental health struggles, addiction struggles, or just really bad days. St. Peter’s supports Ricky’s Retreat through monetary donations. 


Tunnel to Towers

Since 9/11, Tunnel to Towers has been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. They are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001. St. Peter’s supports Tunnel to Towers through monetary donations, and each year we participate in the annual Swansboro Tunnel to Towers 5K by providing a water table and a group of 5k participants.


WNC Hurricane Helene Relief

Supporting efforts to help heal and support those who were impacted by the effects of Hurricane Helene, St. Peter’s provided a monetary donation and is planning to volunteer time in the summer of 2025 through our Towel Ministry.


Miriam House

The Miriam House is a residential addiction rehabilitation facility for women in Carteret County. They help women find a new beginning and return to “society as an independent, self-sufficient and productive person.” The Daughters of the King at St. Peter’s regularly collects hygiene items such as soaps, shampoos, tampons, and sanitary pads for the women at The Miriam.
